A true story

The site that was run on foot

A Prague exhibition venue of 105 000 m² with 120 events a year ran its energy entirely by hand. Someone from the control room had to physically walk the site and set up each building separately. On top of that, rental events get booked at the last minute, which meant demand peaks and penalties for exceeding reserved capacity.

Enmon is digitalizing energy across the whole site. Capacity purchasing runs on data instead of guesses, and the carbon footprint of individual events became a service the venue offers to organizers. A 1 MW solar plant and 36 carports with chargers are in preparation.

A shopping centre has the same DNA: visitor-driven operations, shared systems, tenants, and consumption that swings with every hour of the day.

Absolute numbers say nothing. Only next to the footfall curve can you see when the systems serve customers, and when they just spin the meter. Scrub through a day at the model centre.

Between 5:00 and 9:00, HVAC and lighting run nearly flat out, for an empty centre. A static time schedule knows nothing about footfall. Cutting the ramp-up by two hours means roughly 1 200 kWh a day, over €80 thousand a year at the model centre. And the exact same question applies in the evening after closing.

Service charges, billed by m²

Shared energy of €40,000 a year, five tenants. A flat rate by floor area looks fair, until the metering starts.

The fashion store spent years subsidizing the café and the electronics shop by over €4,000 a year, a flat rate per m² favours energy-hungry operations and punishes the frugal ones. Submetering turns service charges into a fair bill: those who save, save money. And tenant disputes stop being about feelings.

Investors want ESG. Tenants want a fair bill.
